In order to improve the low speed operation performance of position sensorless control of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), the control method of a robust rotor position observer based on high frequency square-wave-type voltage injection is proposed in this paper. Compared with the conventional sinusoidal-type voltage injection method, the square-wave-type voltage injection method avoids the use of low-pass filters for noise reduction and improves the position estimation performance. On the basis of this method, in order to improve the dynamic performance of the system, a robust rotor position observer is used to avoid excessive observational error caused by load disturbance. Simulation and experimental results demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of this sensorless control strategy.
