Proposed paper discusses an analytical, simulation based and experimental verification of efficiency profiles of multiphase, gallium nitride semiconductor based, synchronous buck converters. Loss calculations are provided and compared to experimental results. Based on loss analysis a proposal of an algorithm for efficiency - optimal choice of the number of phases is proposed. Test stand design and measurement setup descriptions are provided.
