The paper deals with comparison between three phase shunt double capacitor double switch (DCDS) and three phase capacitor banks. The load used is inductive load and nonlinear load. The 3-phase filter is composed of three single phase DCDS filters. Each single phase filter composed of an inductor, double switches and double capacitors. The control technique used in this filter is the hysteresis current control (HCC) and the reference signal generation used in this filter is the synchronous reference frame (SRF) technique. The work is simulated using Simulink and the results is compared between the 3-phase DCDS and the capacitor bank for both power factor (p.f) improvement and the current harmonic, which the filter proves to be the best.
