In this paper, a novel hardware platform is proposed for wireless structural health monitoring in real time based on compressed sensing. The platform consists of a three-axis accelerometer sensor, a high-precision multi-channel analog-to-digital converter, a wireless communication module and a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) chip. Firstly, the three-axis acceleration signal of the structure are sampled and compressed simultaneously using a compressed sensing encoder. Secondly, the compressed data are transmitted to a fusion center via a wireless link. Finally, the acceleration signal are reconstructed and the structural health situation is evaluated. Experimental results show that the proposed framework has excellent signal measurement performance, thus making it practical for long term wireless structural health monitoring applications.
