Calculation of the Number of Toll Lanes in the Expressway Based on Multiple Payment

摘要

The expressway toll-gate is a facility for charging on vehicles. The reasonable setting of the number of toll lanes is an important part of the design of the toll plaza. The factors affecting the number of toll lanes are the traffic volume, service time and service level. This paper establishes and improves the model of the number of toll lanes based on Queuing Theory. And a calculation model for the number of lanes that is suiting for multiple payment and different vehicle models is proposed. This calculation model provides support for the calculation and selection of the number of toll lanes in the expressway.
