The Teaching-Learning of Relations in Discrete Mathematics Using Software as a Support

摘要

This paper shows the development of an educational software with which it is possible to read relations in the form of an adjacency matrix, graph or set of ordered pairs and carry out relational algebra operations so as to apply different transformations in order to attain certain properties from the relations. The software is used as an additional tool in the activities that the teacher usually carries out, and has been tested with an experimental group studying the unit regarding relations in the subject of Discrete Mathematics. This paper presents the results of the experience, showing that the students were highly motivated and attained a better academic performance.
