Computer based support for efficient use of energy in manufacturing

Rational use of energy improves the energy, environmental and economic performance of the enterprise. Energy consumption management is an effective tool for adapting the production system in the changing mode of operation of the enterprise. The author offers a method of evaluation of useful work and a method of evaluating the efficiency of energy consumption at each level of the hierarchy of the production system. He also described an algorithm for operational management of energy consumption, based on the operate collection of information on useful work and energy consumption at each level of the hierarchy of the production system.
