A multi-dielectric microstrip slotted antenna with coaxial probe feed arrangement is proposed for LTE/WiMAX application. The antenna structure comprises of a typical rectangular patch with centrally placed inverted U-slot. Substantially a SSR slot is introduced within the inside edge of the inverted U-slot. This slotted architecture enables multi-frequency operation i.e., at 3.6 GHz and 5.4 GHz. The proposed antenna patch is excited with probe feeding technique, in which the optimized feed point yields improved impedance characteristics. The impedance bandwidth is enhanced up to 566 MHz using a stacked layer concept. With this the proposed design exhibits good a gain response up to 8.1 dBi. The proposed structure is designed with a FR4 substrate of 30×25 mm2.
