摘要

An open phase protection strategy for the new generation of large capacity synchronous condenser is studied. The coordination logic of protection after open phase fault occurs is analyzed according to the way that the synchronous condenser is connected to power grid. The difference of sensitivity between open phase protection and breaker failure protection and the possibility of failure protection refusal are pointed out. The de-excitation strategy of open phase protection is put forward through site test and simulation. The comparison and analysis of the test results prove that the strategy can effectively solve the problem of breaker failure protection refusal when open phase fault occurs, effectively reduce the harm of open phase fault to synchronous condenser and power system, which possesses the feasibility of Engineering implementation.
