The paper addresses both microwave and optical design of an electro-optic (E-O) polymer leaky waveguide deflector. The designed optical deflector should allow realizing an all-optical analog-to-digital converter (AOADC) operating over 44 giga-samples-per-second (GSPS) with a resolution of 6.5 bits and power consumption of only 4W. In order to make microwave access compatible with the waveguide topology, via-holes less transition from grounded coplanar line to coupled microstrip line (GCPW-CMS) is proposed and realized, with a measured bandwidth of over 35 GHz.
