Effect of the incorporation of silver nanoparticles in the Er3+/Yb3+codoped TWPO glass on the frequency UC emission upon excitation at 980 nm has been studied. Two strong green and the red UC emission bands have been observed in the region of the electromagnetic spectrum and assigned by the characteristic transitions of Er3+ion. A large enhancement in the green and red UC emission bands has been reported due to the incorporation of silver nanoparticles in the codoped glass. The prepared glass with silver nanoparticles can be used to develop the upconverting devices.
