摘要

We have proposed a decagonal photonic crystal fiber (DPCF) containing only two types of circular air holes in this paper. It has low confinement loss of 0.01 dB/m, high birefringent nearly 7.85×10-3and small effective area of the order of few microns at communication wavelength 1.55 μm. This DPCF may be useful in fabricating polarization maintaining devices, telecommunication, non-linear applications and sensor technology.
