Conclusions: A critical factor in vascularization is to mimic the essentials biophysical and biochemical cues within the native tissue microenvironment. In this work, we developed a novel injectable hydrogel containing vasculogenic QK peptide, mimicking the helical structures at the binding sites of VEGF, to promote vascularization within the 3D microenvironment of the hydrogel matrix. Our future work will be focused on assessment of the utility of the proposed matrices in promoting vascular formation in vivo.
