Conclusions: We have developed off-the-shelf surgical and transcatheter tissue engineered heart valves based on decellularized tissue-engineered human tissue, demonstrating performance of both valves at aortic flow and pressure gradient. Long-term implantation in the sheep model of the surgical valve resulted in unprecedented results for a tissue-engineered aortic valve. Current work is aimed at developing and testing the TAVR valve, which will expand the patient population that can benefit from our tissue-engineered valve.
