Predicting wind speed with local measurements in an overhead line

摘要

Wind power has a significant impact on the operation of power grids. As the operation is planned some hours in advance, it is necessary to forecast the wind power. Besides, wind power forecasting techniques can be adapted for the overhead line rating forecasting. This can be useful for defining advanced strategies for grid operation and improve the power integration. This paper describes several works carried out for the forecasting of the wind speed for the overhead line rating. Some of the methods used for the forecasting are implemented in a pilot line and the results are analyzed.
