摘要

In this paper, we present an S band metamaterial-based sheet beam device. The performance of this device is studied by particle-in-cell simulations and hot experiments. The simulated results indicate a ~2.85 GHz microwave signal with ~1.8 MW peak output power is generated at the output port near the cathode. Meanwhile, the measured results show that the signal has ~650 kW peak output power at ~2.87 GHz. The facts show that this metamaterial-based sheet beam device can be developed to a novel high-power microwave source.
