Smart open cities: Portuguese municipalities open data policies evaluation

摘要

The dissemination of open data within the public administration is extremely important so that citizens can monitor and evaluate the level of implementation of public policies and promote economic development. At the city level, in the context of intelligent territory management, smart cities and citizen relationship, these data should also be published openly so that it can be freely used, modified and shared by anyone, for any purpose, improving transparency and citizens' engagement, and economic development and innovation. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of the open data landscape in Portuguese cities based on the use of the Local Open Data Census platform provided by Open Knowledge International and a survey of this platform open data indicators concerning the 308 Portuguese municipalities.
