摘要

Due to restructuring of electrical power systems, deployment of Distributed Generation (DG) units has increased tremendously in recent years. DG penetration in a distribution network will lead to power loss, voltage deviation and line loading reduction. Also Capacitor placement will result in reduction of power loss and improvement of voltage profile. Simultaneous placement of DG and capacitors will improve the performance of the distribution network further. In this paper the effect of DG and Capacitor placement on network performance is examined considering time-varying nature of the network load profile. In the Proposed approach based on Improved Multi-objective Harmony Search Algorithm (IMOHSA),DG and Capacitor optimal placement problem is solved by simultaneous optimization of all the above objectives. Proposed approach is employed on a standard IEEE 33-bus radial distribution system to demonstrate its effectiveness.
