Solar energy, an alternative to the present conventional generator system, is discussed in this paper. Analysis of various photo-voltaic solar modules, installed at multiple locations, is done based on their reliability indices and active power flow. The Markovian approach is applied for solar irradiation modelling to perform the calculation of transition rates. Monte Carlo simulation methods, used for capacity calculations, are uniquely combined with the Markovian approach in the proposed model. Based on the capacity states generated, the corresponding probability is calculated which is used to find out the reliability indices like Loss of Load Expectations (L.O.L.E.), Expected Energy Not Supplied (E.E.N.S.) and Expected Demand which could not be Supplied (E.D.N.S.). The interference of solar energy in the conventional system decreases the overall reliability of the system. The load flow analysis shows that there is a decrease in the line losses when solar energy is utilised. Reliability Test system of IEEE is simulated for reliability analysis for proposed method.
