1.CDFs did not reduce taxiout times as expected. 1.1Instead, there was a notable increase in taxiout times because aircraft tend to hoid at the gate rather than queue after pushback. 1.2Analyzing time to takeoff (sch out - act off) shows the impact indicated by increased taxi out times is not as drastic, though it remains higher at CDF airports. 2.Airlines noted significantly increased taxiout times at SLC after CDF's. 2.1Comparing Delta and Southwest 737 aircraft leaving from similar gates at SLC revealed taxiout and time to takeoff increased after moving deicing operations to the CDFs. 2.2Delta experienced a similar increase while neither carrier recovered from the prior year increase.
