Lithium Titanate Oxide (LTO) and Supercapacitors as an Option for Hybrid Vehicles

1. LTO batteries are well suited for use with supercapacitors in micro-hybrid vehicles 2. The power capability and long cycle life of LTO batteries are ideal for the HEV application 3. The combination of LTO batteries and supercapacitors results in very low losses (round-trip efficiency ＞95%) and maximum fuel economy improvement 4. Use of supercapacitors with LTO batteries permits use of higher energy density LTO cells.
