This paper introduces a security framework to detectfalse emergency requests, which might significantly disturbactual rescue operations for emergency services. We designa threshold-based false request detection algorithm namedFRDA to effectively filter out false requests, which is basedon a reasonable scoring formula to automatically evaluatethe trustworthiness of emergency requests with the caller'sreporting behavior and location. This study will be a basis fordeveloping mitigation techniques to deal with false emergency requests.
