Following paper describes behaviour of different calibres and types of pistol ammunitionbullets in ballistic gelatine, as a form of imitating their influence on human body. Testsincludes comparison of widely available pistol ammunition in calibres 7,62x25 mm (FMJsteel jacket and PS – mild steel core), 9x19 mm (ACTION 4, FMJ, AP – brass monoblock)and newer small calibre pistol ammunition 4,6x30 mm (ACTION, FMJ DM-21) and5,7x28 mm (SS195LF, SS197SR, SS190 duty round). During tests ballistic gelatine wasprotected by ballistic vest (protection level K2 according to Polish standard PN-V-87000:2011) and different sets of aramide composite. Behaviour of bullet in ballistic gelwas captured with use of Phantom v7.3 high speed camera. Bullet penetration depth andtemporal cavity size were assessed with use of TEMA Motion software.
