A theoretical model is presented in this paper to study sound scattering from flow ducts with semi-infinite lining surface covered by equal-spaced rigid splices, which is of practical importance in developments of silent aeroengine. The key contribution of our work is the analytical and rigorous description of axial liner splices by incorporating Fourier series expansion and Wiener-Hopf method. The distribution of the circumferentially periodical splices in semi-infinite liner region is described using Fourier series. The resulted matrix kernel involves a constant matrix and a diagonal matrix, the latter of which consists of a couple of scalar kernels that a standard routines of scalar kernel factorization could be utilised. This theoretical model is validated by numerical test cases. The essential acoustic scattering effect imposed by axial and azimuthal hard-soft interfaces is illuminated with several parametric study cases.
