For high speed cutting simulation, the improvement of efficiency is crucial. Using finite element software ABAQUS and based on orthogonal cutting numerical simulation, this paper studies the influence law of quality scaling coefficient on the simulation efficiency in the cutting process of titanium Ti6Al4V. By reasonable adjustment of quality scaling factor, and taking the ratio of kinetic energy and internal energy as the evaluation standard, the cutting machining efficiency is improved by maximum when ensuring the inertia force is small. At the same time, the mises stress cloud nephogram of the work pieces under different quality scaling coefficient are analyzed, to verify the effectiveness of the above mentioned method, which has certain guiding significance to the improvement of cutting simulation technology.
