This work presents theory and simulation of a method to solve the divergent problem of multiples of one-half wavelength. It is theoretically shown that, by using the special relationship between the electromagnetic parameters of the sample to be tested and of the known material, the divergent problem of multiples of one-half wavelength can be avoided. Simulation results show that the divergent problem of multiples of one-half wavelength is solved by changing the known material.
