Spectrum sensing is a key technology of cognitive radio network. Firstly, the paper introduced the latest research progress of the application of the stochastic resonance in cognitive radio spectrum sensing, including stochastic resonance in the local field of sensing (such as energy detection, covariance matrix spectrum sensing, cyclostationary feature detection) and the application of collaborative sensing, and then it pointed out some problems of the stochastic resonance to be solved in the cognitive radio spectrum sensing. Last but not the least, the next research directions were summarized.
