Two different FN coatings, adsorption and grafting, have been investigated on stainless steel -CF_x based substrate. Furthermore, the coatings appeared stable under static tests following 7 days of investigations. However under dynamic conditions, adsorbed FN was clearly unstable under flow, as no more FN was detected. In contrast. FNg coating exhibited a high stability with no difference noted before and after the test. FN coatings showed promising hemocompatibility as seen by the free haemoglobin test. Experiments in progress will assess the performances of these coatings when in contact with endothelial cells.
