This paper deals with the power management strategy for standalone DC microgrid based on variable speed wind turbine (VSWT) based on permanent magnetic brushless DC generator (PMBLDCG) Rule based state flow is developed to manage the critical and non-critical electrical loads in DC microgrid. To achieve high performance from the VSWT without using any MPPT technique, and ensure stable operation during the transition, simple control algorithm based on PI controller with anti-windup feedback is developed to control the buck boost converter. The performance of the proposed for standalone DC microgrid configuration and their control strategies are tested by simulation using MATLAB/Simulink and in real time through prototyping laboratory.
