1. An ideal, or near ideal, PSD has been elucidated for particle shapes generated during mining and crushing of Seep Ridge oil shale. 2. Methods for scaling and truncating the studied PSD to generate beds of predictable voids have been demonstrated. 3. Progress has been made to construct a model for estimating void fractions for any random PSD. 4. Along with correlations of blasting and crushing behavior, the model can be used to optimize ore preparation processes.
