The main aim of this study was to perform parametric computational study of continuous radial jet in annular cross-flows using k - ∈ turbulence model. The interaction of a radial disc of fluid emanating from a continuous slot along the periphery of a cylindrical surface with an annular cross-flow was studied using R.ANS simulations. Important flow characteristics such as mean jet trajectory, flow separation location and its properties were analyzed. It was observed that the flow characteristics of such flows depend on Mach number ratio and momentum flux ratio. Separation region just upstream of the jet injection location and a strong recirculation near the downstream region was observed. Recirculation just downstream of the jet injection location leads to the formation of a toroid shaped vortex ring instead of a counter rotating vortex pair as observed in the case of single (discontinuous) jets. It was observed that this recirculating flow structure enhances boundary layer reattachment compared to single/discontinuous jets.
