Based on the information presented here, the flow for each M case appears to be transitioning toward isotropy based upon the velocity fluctuation PDFs, and a visual inspection of the PLIF images. Yet, only Mach 1.36 and Mach 1.50 experiments share some of the minimum requirements for turbulence, in the classical sense, to exist. In both cases, Rer is above 10000, and it is possible for there to exist an inertial range (λ_1/λ_v > 1). Even so, it is probably more accurate to label these flows 'transitional' within the framework of classical turbulence definitions. Mach 1.21 experiments, by these requirements, are not turbulent.
