Passenger#039;s flow for a train#039;s coach and dwelling time using fuzzy logic

摘要

The passengers' traffic and station dwelling time estimation are significant parameters for mass transit planning. Nevertheless, classical methodologies are not easy to apply in certain practical situations. This work presents a new approach that combines the origin destination matrices method with the application of fuzzy logic using as a case study the Panama's metro line 1. In particular, this paper presents an extension and practical application of the previous papers, using three fundamental levels of passenger's flow in the membership function for a train's coach and finally the application of the proposed algorithm in order to predict more realistic effects.
