Multi-Period Multi-Product Production Planning with Controllable Processing Times for Deteriorating Items

In this paper we propose a new model for multi-period multi-product production planning by considering controllability of processing times and inventory deterioration. When the production speed could be adjusted and products are deteriorative-prone, production planning becomes too complex. In this way the problem is classified as NP-Hard. Because of problem complexity and for obtaining a set of Pareto-optimal solutions in a reasonable time, a heuristic solution method is proposed. The proposed model is developed from a real case problem and the heuristic is based on some of the theorems and lemmas. Also the model could be extended for more complicated production environments. Finally a summary report of using the proposed heuristic in the case problem is provided.
