Cantilever structure is a very important component of Jack-up drilling rig, which improve well numbers, flexibility and efficiency of drilling operation during the preloading process. The load cases of the cantilever system are complex, whose structural strength is a key factor of whole drilling rig safely operating in offshore, this paper design and research a new and safe load test solution to verify the structure strength of cantilever and drilling rig body whether meet the design requirements or not, through simulate normal drilling operation condition by top drive hanging test barge, pipe rack and set back area piled steel blocks. This solution will apply in POD-5 Jack-up project, and the test results will prove the safety and feasibility of this test solution.
