摘要

This paper presents a model predictive control (MPC) gear shifting strategy for a novel electric vehicle equipped with 2-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), aiming at improving the fuel economy and reduce frequent gear shifting. In order to reflect the effect of this control method, one other control strategy is designed based on dynamic programming (DP). Results indicate that while both the methods can satisfy the vehicle velocity tracking requirement, the MPC-based method can improve the fuel economy of the pure electric vehicle. Moreover, the gear shifting strategy based on MPC could also avoid frequent shifting.
