This paper discusses experience with current transformer calibration system based on the Rogowski coil. Rogowski coil has no ferromagnetic material in the core and thus the coil cannot be saturated. This means that the coil has inherently excellent linearity. It can be calibrated with low current using a current shunt. The system was taken into use in 2003. Stability of the system is demonstrated, and experience with using the coil is summarized. Proven overall uncertainty in routine calibration work is 0.0025 % for ratio error and 50 μrad for phase displacement up to 8 kA.
