OPEN PAYMENT SYSTEMS FOR TRANSPORT AND ITS SERVICES

This paper describes an Open Payment System (OPS) enabling users of transport and ITS services to pay for the transport and ITS services in an integrated and seamless way. Today there are many barriers between the payment systems for the different services. The payment systems are seldom integrated enabling the user to have one payment contract and one payment means, e.g. a central account. The OPS is described by a concept developed by the joint study group of ISO TC 204 ITS WG5 EFC and WG8 Public Transport and Emergency. The objective of the joint study group is to support and accelerate deployment of OPS for transport and ITS services.
