Ultraflexible organic thin-film transistor (TFT) active matrices have been successfully fabricated on 1 μm thick polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) foil. Low-temperature process of a gate dielectric layer using a self-assembled monolayer is allowed to manufacture organic TFTs with high electrical and mechanical performances. Organic TFTs maintain their electrical performances with less than 10 μm in bending radii. For demonstrating the ultra-thin, -flexible organic TFTs, we developed active matrix sensor array for imperceptible bio-medical applications.
