The results obtained so far show that an immunosensor which operates the competition step in a solvent mixture such as chloroform-hexane mixture can be developed for the purpose of determining atrazine, simazine, paraoxon, 2,4-D and 2,4,5-T in edible seed oils, such as sunflower oil. It was observed that also in this case the best results were obtained: (1) using a Clark-type transducer instead of an H_2O_2 electrode (see reference), (2) by performing not only the competitive procedure but also the actual final enzymatic reaction in organic solvent, i.e. decane, instead of in aqueous solution (see previous paper) then carrying out the final electro-enzymatic measurement using a classical OPEE and (3), lastly, by using as substrate for the peroxidase-catalysed enzymatic reaction, a solution of tert-butyl hydroperoxide in decane.
