Aiming at speeding up the dynamic response and decreasing the torque and radial force ripples as well as simplifying the control system of bearingless switched reluctance motor (BSRM), this paper studies a novel control method which combines direct torque control (DTC) with direct force control (DFC). Firstly, the relationship between the flux and the control objects of BSRM including torque and radial force, are analyzed with the consideration of two sets of windings embedded on the stator. Secondly, compared with traditional DTC, the novel control method is proposed to directly regulate the torque and radial forces simultaneously. The novel voltage vectors of three phases are defined on the space coordinate system and the basic voltage-vector table of each phase is also given to obtain the good performance on the ripple reduction of torque and radial forces. Finally, the simulation results verify the proposed control strategy with MATLAB/Simulink software.
