The InSight (Interior Exploration Using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy, and Heat Transport) mission to Mars has been selected as part of NASA's Discovery Program. Onboard the InSightlander, the main instrument is a seismometer called SEIS (Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure). It monitors seismic activity and tidal displacements and is also composed of a "weather station", the APSS suite. This paper presents the goals of the InSight mission and provides a description of the SEIS instrument and the APSS suite. It describes the SEIS Operations Concept through the different phases of the mission: cruise, landing, commissioning of the instruments and nominal science operations. The interactions between the different teams and subsystems located in different cities and countries will be described, showing the challenges of operating the SEIS and APSS instruments within an exciting mission, in close collaboration with the JPL teams.
