Many advantages exist in the use of sea-rail intermodal transport. These include, but are not limited to large capacities, low costs, and all-weather transport. For this reason, conducting research on sea-rail transport organization problems related to its feasibility in China is important. The aim of this research is to introduce potential development plans using sea-rail container liner trains in main ports as well as analyzing operating conditions and the factors influencing the operation scheme. This paper studies existing problems of the operation scheme and discusses the causes of these problems. Finally, several optimization strategies and suggestions will be presented.
