Innovation and emergent technologies for defence #x2014; Logic and creativity

摘要

The Joint Innovation Centre (JIC), DSTO, conducts Technology Watch (TW) and Horizon Scanning (HS) for the purposes of identifying implications of emerging technological developments worldwide for the Australian Department of Defence (DoD). Currently, JIC has combined Concept Options Development and Program Theory in order to gain greater depth in understanding implications of emergent technologies for the Australian Defence System of Systems(SoS) and to provide a logical model for following up evolution of emergent technologies, their drivers, roadblocks, assumptions and maturity. This paper discusses the evolved methodology and a case study application.
