By 2D Physical model, the optimized test on structural type of rectangular floating box breakwater are performed, two floating box types named " 开 " and "井" are proposed. The test results show that the wave dissipation effect of the two floating box types is improved than rectangle floating box because the empty cavity at the sides and bottom of two floating box types can also dissipate wave energy, and the "井" floating box type is better when wave overtopping is larger. Transmission coefficient decreases with the relative width (ratio of box width with wave length) increasing, when relative width is greater than 0.35, the transmission coefficient of two floating box types are less than or equal to 0.5 basically, when relative width is reach about 0.5, the transmission coefficient can reduce to 0.23~0.32.
