The aim of this study was to evaluate theinhibitory effect of taurine and complex magnesium taurateon the crystallization of calcium oxalate with measurementof electrical conductivity and morphology. The results ofelectrical conductivity research suggest that both taurineand complex magnesium taurate can inhibit the growth ofcalcium oxalate crystals, but the latter has much strongercapability to inhibit that growth. The morphological ofcalcium oxalate crystals were traced with invertedmicroscope, and it also showed complex magnesium tauratehad a better ability to Induce calcium oxalatedehydrate(COD) formation than did taurine under samecondition, so it concludes that the inhibition of complexmagnesium taurate is clearly superior to that of taurine.
