Making semantics available to software applications in formats that support automated reasoning, requires many analytical and modeling steps: from acquiring appropriate knowledge sources, to extracting the required knowledge, to modeling, formalizing and manipulating the extracted knowledge, to combining such knowledge with existing semantic structures, such as taxonomies or ontologies. This paper describes the challenges of equipping a multilingual semantic application for Industry 4.0 with the right quality and the right quantity of semantics and a methodology to sustain such modeling effort.
