Calendar for cane supply is made of equitable distribution system which is most unscientific wherein substantial portion of sugar productivity is lost, resulting less yield to the cane growers and poor sugar recovery to the millers. Thus system requires change as sizable quantity of recoverable sugar is lost. The above table clearly indicates that if the harvesting of sugarcane is done at a proper time i.e. peak maturity, by adopting right technique to realize maximum weight of the millable cane and sugar with least possible field losses under the prevailing environment of the state. Maturity-wise harvesting is always useful and beneficial for sugarcane growers, millers as well as for the state and nation.
