If I could read your mind: An exploration of online image searcher’s behaviors

摘要

This study investigates the roles and usefulness of searchcharacteristics and functionalities for image retrieval in abilingual context. Using a questionnaire and semistructuredinterviews, data were collected from Englishand French speaking participants to provide anunderstanding of how real users search for images online.The results suggested that the image search process stillpresents difficulties and frustration from the imagesearchers’ point of view. The findings of this stage of theresearch project constitute the foundation for thedevelopment of a bilingual interface for the retrieval ofdigital images.
