摘要

In this work, an extensive design study of a 200-250kW, CW gyrotron operating at 170GHz, for plasma heating in an experimental Indian Tokamak is presented. Mode competition and mode selection procedures have been carried out for various candidate modes to choose a probable cavity operating mode. The present study includes cold cavity and self-consistent design calculations. The initial results are indicating that an output power of over 250kW can be achieved at 170GHz operating with higher order asymmetric volume modes.
